How to generate an NFT collection with no code

We recently launched Nifty Generator—an easy-to-use website that lets anyone generate an NFT collection! In this post, we’ll walk through how to use it (don’t worry, it’s pretty simple 😛).

But first, here’s a quick demo video—all you need to do is upload your art and fill out some information, and we’ll handle the rest. Currently, we support generating both Solana and Ethereum metadata. And soon, we’ll add the ability to upload your assets to Candy Machine, straight from the UI 👀

Now, let’s take a brief tour of Nifty Generator to see how it works!

Step 1: Upload your art

To get started, organize your art layers as shown below.

The folder that you upload should contain a subfolder for each trait. And each subfolder should contain all the images for that trait. For example, if you have a “Hair” trait, you should have a subfolder called “Hair,” which will contain images like “Ponytail.png” and “Mohawk.png.”

Then, upload your folder to Nifty Generator. Each folder you upload will appear as a project, and as you edit it, the information will be saved. This makes it easy to start working on something and then return to it later.

Step 2: Fill out basic info

Once your files have been uploaded, you should fill in the basic info about your project. You can change the project’s images by uploading a new folder.

Step 3: Fill out metadata

Depending on whether you choose the Solana blockchain or the Ethereum blockchain, you’ll need to fill out different metadata fields.

The Solana metadata we generate is compatible with the Metaplex standard, and the Ethereum metadata we generate is compatible with the OpenSea standard.

Step 4: Order your layers

This is pretty self-explanatory—it determines the order in which your assets will be layered. In this example, background should be at the bottom. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be able to see the face or the outfit!

Step 5: Assign rarity

There’s just one more step before you can generate your images—assigning rarity!

During this step, you need to decide how rare/common each trait’s variant is.

In the example below, you can see that 9/27 images will have the “Sleepy” face, 9/27 images will have the “Smile” face, and 9/27 images will have the “Surprised” face.

If you have this information in a spreadsheet, it’s easy to copy/paste it into Nifty Generator!

Step 6: Generate your collection!

This is the most fun part—generating all the images!

Once all the images have been generated, just click the “Download” button to download the images and metadata.

Also, note that duplicates (images that have exactly the same layers) are removed automatically.

Premium features

Nifty Generator is completely free to use! However, certain premium features are only accessible by Mycoverse NFT holders. These features are:

  1. Generating collections with >1000 images.
  2. GIF support—you can create animated NFT collections!
  3. The shuffle tool—you can use this to shuffle multiple collections together.

Who are we?
